American Honor Guards will provide a fresh flag to any home, small business, community church or county firehouse. There is no charge for this service. The only thing we ask is that the old flag be turned over to us for retirement.
The proper way to retire a flag is by burning the flag in a metal barrel on wood.
The first flag will be dissembled by separating the red and white stripes from one another and cutting the canton (blue field) free. Every flag thereafter will be placed whole upon the fire. The flag will be burned until on ashes remain. The ashes once cooled are collected and placed into a container then buried on hallowed ground such as an American Legion or VFW Post.
